Enrolment

The enrolment process is an important part of starting your learning journey.

It is where we get to know your needs and expectations and where we can be clear about what we expect from you as a learner.

The enrolment process will include an interview (in person or via phone/teleconference) and will also include you completing an assessment for language, literacy and numeracy (LLN). The LLN assessment helps to ensure we can provide the right support for you in your learning.

To enrol, contact us for an enrolment form.

For further information about our enrolment process see our policies and procedures for student selection and enrolment.

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Already working in the industry and have a range of examples that can be provided as evidence of your current competency. Then RPL may be the pathway for you.

The RPL process is an assessment. This means that you take the responsibility for understanding what the requirements of the qualification and/or units of competency are and package up a comprehensive portfolio of evidence that demonstrates your skills and knowledge in performing against the criteria of each unit of competency.

This will include providing selected video evidence of yourself demonstrating skills and clearly articulating your relevant knowledge as per the performance criteria. Our assessors can provide guidance in what to provide in your portfolio of evidence and we will also provide a template to help you gather your evidence, but you have the responsibility of providing the evidence. It is up to you to tell your story of how you are currently competent and back this up with evidence.

For some people, the process of collecting and documenting the evidence for RPL is difficult or undertaking the task shows up gaps in skills and or knowledge. In this case, some or all of the course may need to be completed and the course assessment undertaken rather than following the RPL process.

If you think the RPL Assessment path is for you, contact us for an initial discussion.

  • Student Support

We understand that not everyone learns in the same way. We design and deliver our training and assessment to offer flexibility in providing reasonable adjustment in supporting you to achieve success in your learning.

During your enrolment, we will work with you to identify any learning needs or support required for undertaking your selected training. There are many things we can do to provide support. However, there maybe additional support needs identified where we will guide you to seek specialist support services in preparation for undertaking training and assessment with us. We will refer you off to seek specialist support for language, literacy or numeracy support before continuing with your enrolment.

The enrolment process is also an opportunity to evaluate you motivation for undertaking the training and determine which course best suits your learning objectives. We welcome the enrolment of people committed to the program, however, there maybe circumstances where we do not accept your enrolment if your expectations and commitment to learning are not aligned with our student code of conduct.

Please refer to our policies and procedures for more detailed information on our enrolment process and student support.
